Goerlitz is a picturesque baroque town on the border of Poland. It is on the railroad line from Dresden to Prague.
The Sorat hotel is the place to stay ($140 per night including yummy breakfast). The operative word is picturesque. Less expensive than either Dresden or Prague it is a nice stop along the way -- only an hour by train from Dresden. Perhaps worth a stop.
